Section1.3To the Instructor
This material focuses primarily on the implementation and understanding of numerical algorithms for mathematics found in a typical undergraduate degree in mathematics. The analysis of the algorithms is discussed at times but is often approached simply as the development of numerical experiments that reveal analytical results (e.g. convergence rates). Rigorous analytical arguments are not the focus of this material. As mentioned previously, this material a companion to the Greenbaum and Charier text. The text contains a wealth of analytical results.
